You have entered Exotica's HEAVY METAL HORROR palace, a site dedicated to the union of two of my quirky loves:
"B" horror movies and heavy metal (duh!!) An added bonus for me is that this genre frequently features '80's
"glam hair bands" -- of which I am also very fond.
Long, long ago, whilst sitting in a darkened theater watching ROCKTOBER BLOOD, yours truly quietly determined to
seek out all films that dare to combine these wonderful elements. I scoured the shelves of the video store and
tirelessly read movie reviews, always alert for some combination of the terms "horror film" and "rock and roll".
Yes, folks -- I am obsessed.
Then came the mass availability of the internet, where I was certain I would find others with the same odd taste in film.
And while I did meet such individuals here and there, I could find no website featuring information on these movies.
Oh, I ran across music sites that occasionally mentioned a horror film, and horror film sites that had the odd review
of movies with a metal theme, but no site specifically dedicated to the wonderful pairing of horror and the Devil's music.
It was then I realized my calling.
And thus was born HEAVY METAL HORROR, where I have compiled my peculiar knowledge and welcome
the input of others on this subject. I work tirelessly to see all films in this genre, and share my findings with
anyone out there who shares my peculiar affinity for these films -- all are welcome. My ambition is to make
THIS your one-stop for information on films of this unique genre. Most titles here are discussed
in-depth, and the ones marked with an asterisk contain SPOILERS; In other words, the review will tell you
how the movie ends. So, if you haven't seen a particular film and knowing the ending is going to ruin it for you,
DON'T READ THE REVIEW. See how easy that is? And if you find you're burning to know the
ending of a film not marked with an asterisk, feel free to e-mail me and I'll be happy to oblige! Featured movie
pages also relate any interesting information and facts I may have about the films, actors, etc., but if
you have some provocative tidbit not included, again..., e-mail me. I always welcome trivia!
And finally: This site is a work in progress. At some point I hope to post stills from the movies and
perhaps do some interviews. In the meantime, here you'll find my input on each film, how I rate it,
nudity content (which may be either a selling point or a detraction depending on your taste),
and a new message board where you can tell the world what YOU think of the movies
the music, the actors, and related matters.
